Bovis Pharmaceuticals, LLC. is a biopharmaceutical company comitted to the discovery, development and comercialization of novel molecule medicines for treatment of the Hepatitis C Virus (HCV), Influenza Type A flue virus infections.
Bovis is focused on the structure-based design of new classes of antiviral drugs. The company's underlying drug discovery engine capitalizes on its proprietary polymer structure, which performs an essential role in the fundamental process of viral suppression. Bovis Pharmaceuticals LLC has multiple drug in preclinical development targeting some of the leading causes of serious community and hospital-acquired infectious diseases. Our current product candidate portfolio consists of BOV-23, a inorganic polymer inhibitor for the treatment of chronic HCV infection, and BOV-24, an oral prodrug for the treatment of HIV-1. On October 20, 2007, Bovis announced it had nominated BOV-23 as a candidate for clinical development as an orally-and intravenously administered direct antiviral for the treatment of chronic HCV infection and Influenza Type A virus infection. BOV-23 is designed and developed for prevention and treatment of HCV and type A Influenza virus. Currently existing chemotherapeutic agents for viral hepatitis are not sufficiently effective. An important issue is a search for effective agents. BOV-23 being an ion-exchange agent has demonstrated antiviral activity against (HCV) infection in the body.
